Get ready to draw, imagine, and save the day—Jewish superhero style! In this epic 6-session cartooning adventure, kids will create their own original superheroes while diving into the world of comic book art through a Jewish lens. From designing bold costumes and expressive faces to crafting action scenes and epic splash pages, each session blends creativity with awesome Jewish stories, heroes, and holidays. Ever imagined Moses as a caped crusader? Or Queen Esther as a masked mystery hero? Now you can! Packed with drawing fun, wild imagination, and holiday-inspired action—this is where Jewish pride meets POW, BAM, and WOW!

I bet you didn’t know… some of your favorite superheroes have deep Jewish roots! From Superman’s origin story echoing the tale of Moses to the X-Men’s outsider struggle reflecting themes of exile and identity, Jewish storytelling has been woven into the very fabric of comic book history. Characters like Kitty Pryde, Magneto, and even The Thing (yep, Ben Grimm himself!) come from Jewish backgrounds—crafted by legendary Jewish creators like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. These stories aren’t just about capes and powers—they’re about justice, resilience, and the timeless fight between good and evil.

And get this — even Batman has Jewish roots! While Bruce Wayne might not be Jewish in the comics, his creators Bob Kane (born Kahn) and Bill Finger were Jewish, and they infused the Dark Knight with themes straight out of Jewish tradition: standing up for the vulnerable, moral justice, and the fight against chaos. His tragic origin story, secret identity, and relentless pursuit of justice echo age-old Jewish narratives of survival, exile, and tikkun olam — the idea of repairing the world. And let’s not forget Ragman, a mystical Jewish superhero who draws power from the souls of the righteous, or Sabra, an Israeli heroine who brings her own bold flavor to the Marvel universe. The influence of Jewish thought, values, and imagination is everywhere in comic book history — and we’re going to explore it all, one heroic sketch at a time!
